Food hunt: Pinggai Cafe

A newbie in town, Pinggai Cafe is owned and operated by two local Iban sisters (one of which was my primary school classmate!). It is situated on China Street, just off the famous touristy Carpenter Street. Words have been spreading fast and this dayak-fusion restaurant has been very popular since its inception less than a year ago.
If parking on narrow streets is a scare to you, I suggest taking Grab (local Uber) there, or simply parking your car at the nearby Plaza Merdeka's basement parking.

During the CNY week, I managed to sneak a short visit there. When we reached there, it was almost 2pm. There were still some crowds but most of them were done eating. Unfortunately, the only food left were the noodles.

Mee goreng belacan

The signature dishes such as nasi goreng dabai, ayam pansuh and three-layered barbequed pork were all sold out.

Since we were already there, we ordered the mee goreng and tea tuak.

My take on this place?
It's full of potential. The food is great, the business is promising. It is a shame that their food get sold out really fast. Hopefully, the operators can take into account the customer volumes and increase their production without compromising on quality.
