Coffee Adventure: Black Bean Coffee, Kuching

Dubbed the 'Starbucks' of Kuching, this old-school coffee shop has been a famous coffee spot for many coffee enthusiasts for locals and tourists alike.

Contrary to the usual hip-looking, instagrammable coffee places, Black Bean Coffee which is situated along Kuching's famous but narrow-lane Carpenter Street has a traditional, antique feel. It is small and without air-conditioner, but the airy, simple shop gives off a unspeakable charm.

This tiny shop is full of interesting caffeine-related props. There are coffee amenities for sale such as drips and signature coffee mugs.

From bean to cup, coffee made in this shop definitely does not disappoint. Served in mugs which portray beautiful Borneo-inspired patterns, the experience of sipping caffeine-loaded beverages surely add a kick to the entire local coffee experience. To add to that, the shop operators are friendly and helpful when it comes to choices of coffee. Teas are served here too!

So next time you're in Kuching, consider getting your caffeine boost at this old-school spot -
